Systems Engineer (ZZ-2)


Support will be for a JS J6 contract. The mission of the JS J6 is to serve the CJCS, develop C4/Cyber capability requirements, and facilitate on behalf of the Joint Force to deliver a sustained information advantage, enable decision and action at the speed of the problem, and to ensure the warfighter receives jointly integrated and effective capabilities necessary to conduct operations. Support efforts for Cyber and C4 capability development, integration and assessments, to achieve an interdependent joint force. Help provide a joint focal point to orchestrate, integrate, and manage designated capabilities across the Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P). Effectively accomplish integration responsibilities by identifying joint interoperability gaps, overlaps, and shortfalls that result in deficiencies in joint warfighting capabilities.

We shall provide comprehensive analysis of requirements for the following focus areas: C4/Cyber capabilities, Mission Partner Environment (MPE) and MPE-Information System (MPE-IS), Cyber Strategy, and MPE Civ-Mil information sharing. We shall Improve survivability capabilities through Force Protections concepts and techniques and shall provide technical support to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities of the warfighter as a weapon system. The technical support may include conducting research and analysis to identify gaps and deficiencies, developing criteria for integration and interoperability, reviewing technical performance and related standards and assessments, updating MPE and MPE-IS syllabi, and developing TTPs for trans-regional MPE/MPE-IS capabilities.

The Systems Engineer will plan and perform engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications. Candidate may be responsible for the technical/engineering part of a major project or a project of lesser complexity and importance than those normally assigned to a higher level engineer. May coordinate the activities of Technicians assigned to specific engineering projects. The candidate may be required to utilize advanced knowledge of modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques, and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines in determining solutions. Provide expertise and knowledge of the subject matter to analyze and solve complex problems and provides management and subject matter insight to teams performing assigned tasks.

Clearance Requirements:
Must have current Top Secret clearance (based on SSBI completed within the last five years) with SCI eligibility. Clearance must be verifiable in JPAS.

Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or other comparable technical degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years related experience; OR a BA/BS from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years related experience.

Experience: Must possess 5 to 10 years’ experience with an understanding of multiple C4 and Cyber systems; System development or design experience in computers, communications, and wireless technology programs; cost-benefit analysis to support decision making of alternative designs or architectures and risk assessment associated with approach; experience in requirements development, product definition and design, C2, and test planning and execution.
